The Good:
So, Paleo... I love eating Paleo, I haven't felt this good in years. To eliminate processed junk, massive amounts of carbs and dairy, and bagged, canned, packaged crap; it feels good, physically and mentally, to be able to stick my hand in their faces and say 'no thanks, I do not eat that shit'.
The Bad:
I do not eat like a caveman. The caveman ate for survival. Although I opt to eat for nourishment, many instances of hunger, boredom, frustration, excitement, and free food often sabotage my intentions of eating in moderation. Not only that, but I love food, lots of it, and just like many other people, a palm-sized portion of protein just doesn't cut it in my books, nor in my belly. So if you put a salad with a 3oz chicken breast in front of me and say here is your lunch, I'm going to laugh, I'm going to eat it, and then I'm going to order a full slab of baby back ribs and lick every last bone clean while you glare at me with disgust.
The Ugly:
I have read a few articles on Paleo websites stating how it is almost impossible overeat Paleo foods... Let me tell you from first-hand experience--- this is not true! It is very possible to overindulge in Paleo foods, I do this hmmm alot! When consumed in extra large portions, some Paleo goodness will make me feel just as bad as that medium pepperoni pizza with extra cheese used to... Okay I lied... large. It is true the Paleo Lifestyle can help eliminate carb cravings and sugar addictions; however, if you love food, not to say you need to be a food addict or compulsive overeater, but if you like food at least half as much as I do, you are bound to over do it once in a while. Do you have a hard time controlling the quantity of your favourite Paleo goodies you shove in your mouth?-- This may be a sign to eliminate these items from your cave.
